Pollard Misses Argentina Match
Fly half player Handre Pollard is one of the players of South Africa rugby team who will not be facing Argentina in the opening match of Springboks Rugby Championship. This game is scheduled to be held this weekend at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium but Pollard is down with an ankle problem that he encountered in April. He missed out most of the 2016 for injury reasons, but had been included to be part of the South African squad that would be facing Argentina.
Coach of the South African team, Allister Coetzee has faced several challenges in selecting the right team for facing Argentina. Besides Pollard, who does not seem to be ready for the games, Coetzee runs thin on options regarding fly half players in his team. The only experienced player and number 10 on the squad is Elton Jantjies. He would be accompanied by Curwin Bosch, who is an uncapped 20 year old player.
Even Frans Malherbe who is a tight head prop seems to be falling back on the fitness quotient. He has been recently complaining about a sore neck and would probably sit out the test matches. As the Argentine forward team is known to be powerful, the South African coach needs to think and plan hard so that the players are able to put up an able front before the players of Argentina.
Indeed, these are some of the games that rugby game fans can look forward to watching till the Premiership league starts. South Africa and Argentina present a different set of players and a different rugby gaming environment. It surely helps fans to check out different skills and strategies that are played out in such countries, unlike what is witnessed among the predominant English teams in the Premiership league games. Diversity is what makes rugby games exciting across the world.
