Mourinho in Statistics

It’s probably not unfair to say that Jose Mourinho divides opinion. The controversial manager is known for some rather confident press conferences in which he is famous for providing a “special” quote each time. Love him or hate him, you can’t fault his managerial record.

Having started out as an interpreter at Barcelona, Mourinho moved into management in his native Portugal before success in the Champions League with FC Porto opened doors for him.

A move to Chelsea immediately followed, as did domestic success as the self-proclaimed “Special One” began to make a name for himself. After leaving the Bridge in 2008 he went on to win a second Champions League winners’ medal, this time with Inter Milan. After a mixed spell in Italy, Mourinho moved into the hot seat at Real Madrid and helped the club to numerous domestic titles.

Now, as he prepares for a second spell in the Premier League, the journalists will be sharpening their pencils awaiting his next gem in a press conference and those who thought they’d seen the back of him will be wondering what they’ve got to do to get one over on him.

His managerial record, as you can see from this infographic compiled by The Soccer Store shows, is pretty impressive – like his CV – and you can learn much more about the controversial figure by reading some of the other stats and details in the graphic that you might not have known.
