BE MORE GREEDY
Norwich city manager Chris Hughton has said that the strikers he has at the club should be more greedy in front of goal in order to score more goals. Chris Hughton was left frustrated after the 0-0 draw with Championship club Hull city recently.
Only a few days remaining before the start of the new Premier league season and Chris Hughton has said that the players should improve a lot in terms of goalscoring if they are to achieve the heights of last season. They will play in the final pre-season match of the campaign against German club Borussia Moenchengladbach, before starting their proper Norwich City fixtures on August 18th.
Chris Hughton has summarized the pre-season for the club by saying that it has been extremely solid only for the lack of a few more goals from the strikers. However, he also admitted the fact that his strikers will not be able to score a lot of goals if they are not greedy in front of goal. It is often said that players should not be greedy and that they should always look towards putting the team in front, but Chris Hughton has said that it is important for the strikers to be in and amongst goals. Norwich will be beginning the new season on the road against Fulham.
“An area we’d like to improve on over this pre-season period is our goals tally. We looked very solid as a unit, got into some good areas but it would have been nice to see a couple of goals. It’s perhaps just being a little bit more decisive, making that clinical pass, and being a little bit more greedy in front of goal. You want to go into that game making sure you show some of the qualities you’d like to take into the season,” said the former Birmingham city manager ahead of the Borussia Moenchengladbach match.
